p r e g o n a n d o sounds like the wind made into guitar-lines that travel throughout the song, like a guiding light shining on a track that is mystic. From the root to the end, the track is thick and heavy, the lyrics deep, calling for a ritual of Chosen Ancestral Tambolerxs (drummers) summoned to awaken the warrior spirit in us as well as the spirit of journey; inviting to a dreamlike dance, where feet are off the ground in trans, as the winds announce change. The drums and bass bounce back and forth from a criollo trap beat to tropical/rock like grooves that go right through like a train, sharp heavy but smooth like butter, ready to ride through the uncertainty of all journeys, empowered with chants… and chanting (Pregonando) to meet the Saints, Pregonando to be reborn in “a place where there is no notion of time and where the experience is truly sacred”, as the lyrics say. And so Pregonando or Chanting, is how the song catches on fire right before the very end; An end of slow down cadence and visceral mood, where you can almost hear the heartbeat of the giant inside you, ready to become light!
every a m a n e c e r (Dawn) marks the beginning of a new day, as it also marks the end of a night; the culmination of a cycle; and so this new track from KUYE “Pregonando” (Chanting) is exactly that, the New and the Culminating track from the latest five! completing the Album EP, and gifting us 5 new tracks for this new Amanecer: Fortuna, Entero, La Cura, Murmuro & Pregonando, released one after the other, in the past few months.

“Amanecer” is an EP Concept Album of five tracks that leave a unique sound printed and stamped in the fabric of the modern immigrant music in and from NYC via Colombia and Sudan, made with love supreme.
Pregonando also comes with another beautiful and powerful Digital Collage Art, as Brazilian collage artist @moraismavi creates unique pieces for each song in the EP. This last one, is the unification of all the prior pieces as part of an intentional series that when pieced together represent “Amanecer”, KUYE’s dream-like state.
